Local & National Tour Permits

Because National requries Youth Protection and Weather Hazards training for all tour permits, training records

must be checked before approval is given.  Also, packs must have at least one BALOO trained leader when

conducting an overnighter.  This is time-consuming, thus the reason for the requested timelines.

Remember to submit a local tour permit (if out of council) and a national tour permit (if your trip is more than 500 miles

one way).  Submit your local tour permit at least two (2) weeks prior to your activity and at least four (4) weeks for a

national tour permit.  Forms may be obtained at www.scouting.org.  Local tour permits may also be completed and

submitted at myscouting.org.
