2013 NATIONAL JAMBOREE
July 15-24, 2013
ATTENTION BOY SCOUT & VENTURING LEADERS:
The Buffalo Trace Council is selecting adults to lead our youth at the National Jamboree, which will take place from July 15 – July 24, 2013 at the brand new Summit Bechtel National Scout Reserve in West Virginia. Available positions include Scoutmaster, First Assistant Scoutmaster, Second Assistant Scoutmaster, and Third Assistant Scoutmaster. Also, for the first time ever, Venturers are invited to attend, so we will need a male Venturing Leader and, if we have female participants, we will also need a female Venturing Leader. We promise this Jamboree will be nothing like you have experienced before, so don’t let the opportunity to apply pass you by!
Please go to the information listed below to apply. There is a $150 deposit, which is refundable if you are not chosen to attend. The registration deadline for adult leadership applications is February 28, 2012.
Please share this information with your youth!

YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING
Effective June 1, 2010 Youth Protection Training is required for all registered volunteers.
Many of your leaders' youth protection training will expire at some point during 2012.
A unit roster should be reviewed to note the date your leaders took their last youth
protection training. You may contact your District Professional or registrar at
registrar@buffalotrace.org for a current unit roster.
New Leaders are required to take Youth Protection Training before they submit their
application for registration. The certificate of completion for this training must be
submitted at the time application is made and before volunteer service with youth begins.
Youth Protection Training must be taken every two years. If a volunteer's Youth
Protection Training record is not current at the time of recharter, the volunteer wil not
be reregistered.
Youth Protection Training is available online at www.scouting.org.
1. Please go to the website above and if you are new set up your login and password.
2. Then go to My Scouting and login.
3. Click on Training and then Youth Protection Training.
4. Please print your card at the end - if you are new turn it in with your application -
If you are already registered, you can still print the card and you will automatically
be updated in the Boy Scouts of America, Buffalo Trace Council computer system.
