ENERGIZING INDIANA

Community Outreach & Enrichment Program

In an effort to energize our communities, nonprofit organizations in Indiana have the opportunity to enroll in Energizing Indiana's Community Outreach and Enrichment Program. For every home that has a Home Energy Assessment (HEA) completed, that has signed up through Buffalo Trace Council, Energizing Indiana will give that nonprofit $25!

The council has elected to split their funds with participating units. For each HEA completed per family, the council will retain $10 and deposit $15 into the unit account for the Troop or Pack or Crew.

Muskhogen Trail

The current Muskhogen Trail is based at Angel Mounds State Historic Site.

It includes an approximate 6-mile hike within the Indian village area

and a trail through the adjoining woods.

Boy Scouts who want a ten-mile hike may hike the full trail and

then repeat the section from the parking lot through the woods

and back to the parking lot.

Sponsored by Muskhogen Trail Committee

Troop 301 The Methodist Temple

YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING

Effective June 1, 2010 Youth Protection Training is required for all registered volunteers.

Many of your leaders' youth protection training will expire at some point during 2012.

A unit roster should be reviewed to note the date your leaders took their last youth

protection training.  You may contact your District Professional or registrar at

registrar@buffalotrace.org for a current unit roster.

New Leaders are required to take Youth Protection Training before they submit their

application for registration.  The certificate of completion for this training must be

submitted at the time application is made and before volunteer service with youth begins.

Youth Protection Training must be taken every two years.  If a volunteer's Youth

Protection Training record is not current at the time of recharter, the volunteer will not

be reregistered.

Youth Protection Training is available online at www.scouting.org.

1.  Please go to the website above and if you are new set up your login and password.

2.  Then go to My Scouting and login.

3.  Click on Training and then Youth Protection Training.

4.  Please print your card at the end - if you are new turn it in with your application -

If you are already registered, you can still print the card and you will automatically

be updated in the Boy Scouts of America, Buffalo Trace Council computer system.
